expert and he has given lectures, talks and workshops all over the world
from Dubai to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore to Johannesburg.
Dr. Jahangiri develops and customize each course, workshop or
presentation based on the needs of the organization or event. His
lectures have attracted students from organizations all over the world
including: Abu Dhabi System & Information Committee, Bank Indonesia,
Headquarters of the Department of Immigration – Malaysia, Lloyds TSB
Bank, Malaysia Ministry of Defense, Singapore Anti-Corruption Commission
and the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
Cyber Forensic Investigation Workshop: Cyber forensics is the
extraction, preservation and interpretation of digital evidence stored
on a suspect's computer system and is one of Dr. Jahangiri's fields of
expertise. Dr. Jahangiri has registered and pending patents in the field
of cyber forensics and has lectured and run related workshops worldwide.
He has provided practical training in Singapore, Jakarta, Taiwan, Dubai
and Johannesburg. Dr. Jahangiri is a Certified EC-Council Instructor and
received an Instructor Circle of Excellence Award in 2009 from the
EC-Council for his Certified Hacking Forensic Investigation (CHFI)
workshops.
Serupepeli Neiko of the Fiji Police Force attended a Cyber Forensic
Workshop in Singapore and had this to say about the training he
received, “Dr Ali is one of the trainers I have come across who has
vast knowledge and experience in dealing with computer related offences.
It was an honor meeting him.”
Ethical Hacking: In the fight against malicious (black hat)
hackers a breed of ethical (white hat) hackers has arisen to test, probe
and secure information systems using the same tools and techniques as
criminal hackers. Dr. Jahangiri received his Instructor Circle of
Excellence Award not only for his Certified Hacking Forensic
Investigation workshops but also for his skills as a trainer for the
EC-Council's Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) workshop.
Mr. M. Karsan attended a Certified Ethical Hacker Workshop and
commented, “the fine balance achieved between the theory and
practical structure of the course really aided the learning process,
making it beneficial, intuitive and thoroughly enjoyable.”
2010 will see Dr. Jahangiri running 'Live Hacking' workshops with Prague
and Johannesburg being the first cities to play host to this new and
comprehensive workshop for white-hat computer hacking. Based on his
'Live Hacking' book, the workshop will introduce IT professionals to the
world of hacking and network security and give them the knowledge they
need to combat the persistent cyber criminals.
ISO27001 and Information Security Management Systems: ISO27001 is
part of the ISO27000-series of international standards laying down the
best practice recommendations for information security management.
Specifically ISO27001 is the standard to bring information security
under explicit management control. As a formal ISO standard
organizations which have adopted ISO27001 need to be formally audited
and certified. Dr. Jahangiri is a recognized ISO27001 lead auditor and
is available internationally to speak and lecture on ISO27001 gap
analysis, risk assessment and implementation. He is also able to provide
ISO27001 internal auditing services.
Penetration Testing: A penetration test determines how well your
organization's security policies protect your assets by trying to gain
access to your network and information assets in the same way a hacker
would. Tests can range from an overview of the security environment to
an attempted "hacking" with the intent of obtaining investigative
information.
Related to Ethical Hacking, Dr. Jahangiri has extensive knowledge and
experience of penetration testing. Using the Open Source Security
Testing Methodology (which is a peer-reviewed methodology for performing
security tests) Dr. Jahangiri has travelled the globe talking about
penetration testing and the OSSTMM as well as actually evaluating the
security of different computer systems and networks by performing
penetration tests.
Information Security Risk Management: Many organizations focus
solely on infrastructure weaknesses and fail to establish the effect on
their most important information assets. This leads to a gap between an
organization’s operational and information technology requirements,
placing the assets at risk. Current approaches to information security
risk management tend to be incomplete. Determining your information
security risks is the first step in managing them. Once an organization
has identified its risks, it can build mitigation plans to address those
risks. Dr. Jahangiri has offered consultancy and training about
Information Security Risk Management on the international stage.
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery: Business continuity
and disaster recovery defines an organization’s ability to recover from
a disaster and continue operations. Developing and implementing a
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan is key to ensuring your
ability to continue business after an unexpected event.
Dr. Jahangiri has helped
organizations all over the world with impact analysis, threat analysis,
definition of impact scenarios, recovery requirement documentation and
solution design enable them to recover when disaster strikes.
